“They Charge for the Sun” was selected to be part of the Bluestocking Film Series, which showcases short films that feature complex female protagonists and pass the Bechdel-Wallace Test. The series will first screen at the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles on Friday, June 23 before traveling around the country and across the world.

“They Charge for the Sun” is an official selection of the Bentonville Film Festival, which was co-founded by Geena Davis with a mission to “champion women and diversity in all aspects of entertainment media.” It will screen as part of the Diversity Shorts Block on Friday, May 5. “Star Academy,” created by by Eugene, D.G. McMurry, and Chris Whigham, finished in 2nd and 3rd place in the People’s Pilot Competition’s 1/2 Hour (or Less) Series category with its two pilots: “What Are Sex Robots Made Of?” written by Christopher Valin and “The Trouble With Crotch Busters” written by Eugene.

The Atlanta Film Festival announced its first wave of films from its 2017 lineup, which includes “They Charge for the Sun.”












December 6, 2016 
Eugene’s “How I Met Your Mother” spec script, “The Mosby Redemption,” was selected by the Fan Fiction Film and Writing Festival as its December 2016 winning screenplay. The script was also awarded a table reading.

“Star Academy: 3013 - What Are Sex Robots Made Of?,” which was written by Christopher Valin (based on a concept and characters created by Eugene, D.G. McMurry, and Chris Whigham) advanced to the Semifinals in the LS&B Comedy Writing Contest.
